I spoke on contracts and on query letters at the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference last weekend, and it was a wonderful experience to attend from a faculty perspective this year. This conference is always wonderful, always has something for everyone, and is a great way to learn, network and fellowship. One of the most fun things I got to do was hang out with my favorite author’s assistant, PR person, and radio personality, Twila Belk. She has been handling things for Cec Murphey for the last 5 years, and doing a remarkable job. I had the privilege of hearing her speak and encourage writers. She is truly an amazing lady.
If you are interested in a well rounded writers conference, I would encourage you to consider attending next year. We even had a gentleman from Alaska this year. The conference is always in June in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Dennis (“Doc”) Hensley is the keynote next year, and he is a wonderful speaker, teacher and writer.
