I received the agenda for my local writers’ group, Louisville Christian Writers, and it made me think about how much this group has benefitted me. I’ve made connections, received feedback, given feedback, brainstormed ideas, and just had a lot of fun making new friends and fellowshipping with the members.

If you’re a writer and not connected to a group of your peers, I would encourage you to explore this as an option to your career growth. Just being able to connect with others who are experiencing the same frustrations is huge, but to be able to share successes with those who understand your joy in those circumstances is even better.

Just in our area alone, there are numerous writer groups, some Christian, some secular, some focused on fiction writing, and some are focused even more on romantic fiction, and then there are some who just want to make sure writers have a forum to connect with each other and share experiences. Whatever your need, there’s probably a writers’ group for you. If not, then why not start one? Every group has to start somewhere!
