I’ve discovered Pinterest. This is a social media site devoted to pinning images in your profile, connecting with friends, and following others. When I first learned about Pinterest, I’ll admit that I really wasn’t that interested. I thought I would check it out and tried to sign up, but you can’t just join without an invite, unless you want to be patient and wait for approval. I’m not sure how long approval takes, but at least a week passed between the time I tried to sign up for an account and receiving an actual invite from my step-daughter. Once I signed up, I realized this is a fabulous place to post images of photos I run across and want to save. I no longer have to save them on my hard drive. I can “pin” it to my profile for reviewing later.
Some examples of how I used Pinterest include saving photos of bathroom designs, photos of crochet patterns, recipes and holiday decor. You can also type in a note, so if you want to preserve where you found the photo, you can simply type the website into your notes. If this sounds like something you are interested in, check it out at www.pinterest.com. Even if you have to wait for an account, Pinterest will still let you browse the site.
